NOSTRADAMUS PROPHECIES
Introduction to Nostradamus Prophecies:
When most people speculate as to whether it is possible to peep into the future, no would be the reply. But, one name that immediately comes to mind, while answering this question is Nostradamus. Since many years, Nostradamus Prophecies have baffled scholars all over the world. According to historians, Nostradamous had made at least 1000 predictions. The most amazing of his prophecies include the advent of three anti-Christs. There are many incidents, which portray the greatness of his prophecies. The story goes that once, while Nostradamus was roaming along the streets of Italy. He came face to face with a group of Franciscan monks. Just as he stood aside to let them pass, he immediately fell into the knees of one of the monks and exclaimed that he needed to yield and bow to the holy man. The holy man Nostradamus was referring to was Felice Perreti, who previously was a herder of swine and an outcaste. Nineteen years after the death of Nostradamus, the man went on to become the pope of Roman Catholic Church by the name Pope Sixtus V.
Prophecies of the Past:
Nostradamus had specifically prophesized the advent of three most tyrannical rulers who would indulge in violence. It is thought that the first of these was Napoleon. Nostradamous indicated that initially after seducing people with assurances of grandness, he would usurp empires. It is also thought that the battle that took place in winter in Russia from where, Napoleon had to retreat facing defeat, was also mentioned by Nostradamus. Specific words such as a great troop will come from “Russia” are also mentioned in the prophecies. The second Nostradamus prophecy mentions about a man, who would be stained with murder and as a great foe of the human race. It also describes the man to be worse than any of his previous predecessors. In further lines, the man is referred to be bloody and inhuman. More intriguing is the fact that Nostradamus had also predicted his own death. No one knows whether such predictions and prophecies are a matter of mere coincidence or a matter of fact.
Validity of Nostradamus Prophecies:
While many people do believe in Nostradamus Prophecies, many historians still doubt the validity of the verses which were written by him. It is argued that modern facts are just tallied to the prophecies just for the publicity sake. The height of Nostradamus predictions came post 9/11, when some newspapers and news channels vaguely mentioned that Nostradamous had predicted the 9/11 attacks. Whether people do it for their personal gain or for publicity, it is felt that the fascination over Nostradamus prophecies would never end and would generate far more interest than ever before. |
