PROPHECY OF THE HOLY MUSLIM PROPHET IN THE BIBLE

Durban Speech:
The year 1975, witnessed a series of lectures by Mr. Ahmed Deedat at the Durban City Hall, a couple of them proved that Mohammad was prophesized in the Bible. The first lecture of Ahmed Deedat was with regards, the mentioning of the prophet by the Bible. It mostly dealt with the book of Deuteronomy of the Old Testament. In his speech, it was specifically mentioned that the book contained verses, in which Moses had foretold the coming of the prophet of Islam. In the verses of the Book of Deuteronomy, Moses clearly speaks to his people about the coming of a next prophet and instructs people to follow his teachings. In the following year, Mr. Deedat published a book containing the Durban Speech. The second lecture was regarding, the succession of Mohammad to Jesus Christ. In the second speech, references were given of Jesus, whereby the prophet foretells the coming of the next prophet. Jesus named the future prophet as the comforter, who would later follow him.
Miscellaneous:
These lectures of Mr. Deedat have arisen out of numerous attempts made by Muslim writers, who had to make these predictions fit their holy prophet. The main reason for their research of these verses was the Quran itself.  It was stated from a verse in the Quran that the coming of the prophet was already revealed in the previous books. Hence, the need was felt to search extensively thorough the Torah, the Bible and the Gospel in the form of proof, as to whether these prophecies were indeed mentioned in these books. While, it was suggested by the Quran that it would be easily found in the previous books, Muslims are surprised by the fact that there were numerous prophecies about the coming of Jesus as compared to Mohammad.
